 On the comer of the brightest spot in the world- ground broke on November 16 1964 for one of the most famous Glitter Gulch landmarks - the Four Queens Hotel/Casino. This hotel in Las Vegas was dedicated to owner/builder Ben Goffsteins four daughters, Faith, Hope, Benita and Michele. It began as a pint-size property with 120 rooms and a casino of 20-000 square feet. Under creative leadership it has grown to be a jewel in todays downtown Las Vegas. In 1976 the casino expanded to 33-000 square feet- and the new decor set the interior-decorating trend for Las Vegas casinos by replacing the typical gambling-house red and black with warm earth tones. Another casino expansion in 1977 enlarged the casino to 40 000 square feet. It now takes up the full block of Fremont Street from Casino Center to Third Street.
