If you’re not sure what a motel is, it is a motor-hotel that is normally close to highways and has an outdoor entrance so drivers can park close to their room. For more than 50 years motels have been part of the American landscape but they aren’t often seen outside of North America. Where to find Las Vegas Motels
Most of the motels in Las Vegas have been demolished to make room for the extravagant Las Vegas hotels. But motels can still be found in Las Vegas with some of them being only a few blocks off the Strip. The Las Vegas Boulevard South, between the Stratosphere and Fremont Street, has the great density of motels. However, this area has a reputation of being a bit seedy. But if you go in any direction off the strip, especially east, you will be able to find one of these motor-hotels.
What to Expect
A good rule of thumb when traveling to Las Vegas is – you get what you pay for. A lot of the motels in Vegas are part of big international chains like Super 8 or Motels 6. These ‘name brand motels’ are a good bet because they generally have a service and cleanliness standards often times not far behind of most hotels.
Why stay at a Las Vegas motel?
Three common reasons to stay in a motel in Las Vegas are that you have a car and you want quick and easy access to it. The second reason is that Las Vegas can be expensive and you are looking to save some money, and the third reason is that you didn’t book a hotel and the few remaining rooms in Vegas are too pricey. Many people from Los Angeles will drive to Sin City, making a motel a convenient choice sue to needing easy access to their cars they used to make the 5 hour trip.
