Shows in Las Vegas
If gambling isn't your thing, there are plenty of other ways to have fun in Las Vegas. Las Vegas has an incredible nightlife with some of the best theatre shows in the world. The Strip has been home to mega stars like Elvis Presley and Celine Dion. Currently, Elton John and Barry Manilow preform there before sold out audiences. From magic to theatre to music to comedy, Las Vegas shows will surely keep you entertained. Here's a brief detailing of the three most popular shows on the Strip. Keep in mind though - with close to 38 million visitors a year, Vegas shows tend to sell out quickly. It's best to reserve tickets well in advance of your visit (some shows have waiting lists that are up to twelve months long)!
Cirque De Soleil - Mystère
Since its opening in 1993, Cirque du Soleil Mystère has been, hands down, the show to see in Vegas. Mystère is the flagship Cirque du Soleil attraction in Vegas, which is also home to four others (O, Kà, LOVE, and Zumanity). With its stunning makeup and costuming Mystère has reinvented the circus show, featuring breathtaking acrobatics, gymnastics and dance, preformed with new age music on magnificently-decorated sets. Permanently located at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino's Mystère Theatre, the show - which seats 1600 - is nearly always sold out. Mystère is a great entertainment option for just about everyone - the cosutmes and acrobatics are family friendly and sure to entertain people of all ages. Mystère's major theme is the origin of life in the universe and features wondorous characters such as the Firebird, the Black Widow, and the Double Face. Mystère is easily one of the most recognizable shows in Vegas. If you're only going to see one show while in town, make it this one. Ticket prices for Mystère range from $60-90 USD and reservations can be made online at: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/Mystere/Mystere-Las-Vegas.htm.
Barry Manilow - Music & Passion
Consistently making the top ten lists of "must see" Vegas shows, Barry Manilow's Music & Passion man offers audiences a top-notch orcestra, incredible back-up singers and an excellent score that spans Manilow's legendary, 30 year career. Tickets range from $95.00-$225.00 and can be pruchased online at: www.musicandpassion.com. Make sure to see this show while it's here - unlike Mystère, Music & Passion is not a permanent Vegas fixture. While there are rumblings that Manilow's one year, 2008 contract will be extended into 2009, there's no telling how long the show will run. Even at the age of 58, Manilow is continually described as a solid performer, and his voice carries well throughout the 1600 seat theatre. Music & Passion is wholly entertaining but it is best suited to longtime fans. Be forewarned - the kiddies may not enjoy this show as much the as adults, but it truly is a pleasure to see this music icon in action.

In the show, Brady changes lyrics to popular songs based on audience suggestions, uses volunteers as "props", and imitates their mannerisms.
